Summary

Catalina only made her deal with the demon because she had nowhere else to go。 The world has kicked her every chance it got, so she’s all too happy to leave the realm she knows behind。 What’s the worst that could happen?

She doesn’t anticipate being auctioned away to a kraken。

Thane is cold and distant…but he’s not unkind。 Isolated as they are, Catalina finds herself seeking his company again and again。 And when she finally agrees to uphold her portion of the bargain?

That’s when things get really interesting。

But she only gave the demon seven years, and when the time is up, she’ll have no choice but to leave behind the kraken who’s stolen her heart and return to the world that doesn’t want her。

Quick and sweet monster romance。 I loved the direction that Katee went on this story。 I think Catalina’s backstory is heart wrenching and I felt it the whole way through。Thank is the perfect match in that his backstory is equally heart wrenching yet completely different。

CW: neglect, abortion, emotional neglect, death of a spouseI really liked this one。 Thane is still dealing with his grief from the death of his husband a few years ago。 He enters this deal with the bargainer demon to benefit his kingdom but he doesn't want to replace Brant nor does he want children。 The plan is to step aside and give the kingdom over to his sibling, Embry。 Catalina takes the deal with Azazel because she sees the money at the end of seven years as a way to keep people with her re CW: neglect, abortion, emotional neglect, death of a spouseI really liked this one。 Thane is still dealing with his grief from the death of his husband a few years ago。 He enters this deal with the bargainer demon to benefit his kingdom but he doesn't want to replace Brant nor does he want children。 The plan is to step aside and give the kingdom over to his sibling, Embry。 Catalina takes the deal with Azazel because she sees the money at the end of seven years as a way to keep people with her regardless of what they feel about her。 She figures the money will keep them from leaving。 Thane and Catalina are both hurt in different ways。 I liked watching them learn that they were more than they presented to the world and that they liked what they found。 I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Catalina didn't magically change her mind about not wanting to have children。 。。。more

I’m not normally a fan of the brat trope, but I really loved this book。 It made me feel all of the feels and I lost count of how many times I cried。Thane and Catalina definitely had a lot of past baggage that they’re working through, but their relationship is going to bloom into something amazing!

Another fun and spicy read。 This one had a lot of heart and dealt with some big concepts。 I loved that aspect to it。 I think it was handled very well。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was another great book in this series。 I loved all of it and can’t wait for the next one。 When you aren’t used to love and attention it would be hard to be with someone and not try to overthink and assume that they don’t like you。

2。5 stars。 I wish this had been ever so slightly longer, I would have liked the relationship fleshed out a lil more。

3。5?On the fence。 Overall, I was expecting a bit more from the characters, but Thane and Catalina kept falling into this trap of one-dimensioned, same mistakes over and over until the communication finally happened in the last little chunk。 I think this could have benefited from being a little longer。 I did love the pro-choice representation, and as always we have excellent queer rep, it just felt。。。 flat。 It was missing something。

It was good。 I can see where other reviewers were coming from when they said that it feels short。 Our characters aren't together for awhile and then they are and then it's done。 It was still an enjoyable read。 Oh, right, this was an early look through Robert's Patreon It was good。 I can see where other reviewers were coming from when they said that it feels short。 Our characters aren't together for awhile and then they are and then it's done。 It was still an enjoyable read。 Oh, right, this was an early look through Robert's Patreon 。。。more

I got an early release copy for being a Patreon member。 I really enjoyed this book, I love everything about broody grumpy Thane, and bratty Catalina! If there is a man out there that has tentacles please look me up 🥵🥵🥵。

I love Katee Robert’s other books but this one fell flat for me。 The story was rushed and the ending conflict seemed a little forced。 Same with the sex scenes…** received ARC from Katee’s Patreon **

3。5 stars。 was really hoping for more detailed spice。 these characters didn’t seem as developed as previous deal with a demon characters so they weren’t as memorable; however, it was an enjoyable, quick read。

bobbiann

It was a fast read。 I liked the whole book but it wasn’t as interesting as the dragons bride which I loved。 I would have loved for it to be a better ending though。。 that’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars the ending was horrible。。

My first monster romance by Katee and I get why people go off for her now when it comes to these。 I love the world she built, I loved getting to know Thane and Catalina, I loved the genuine feelings I felt while reading。 GD, I’m so interested in tentacles now 😂

2。5 rounded up。 I had such high expectations based on every book I’ve read from Katee Robert。 I wish I had enjoyed this one more,

Trigger Warning: AbortionI got to read this early due to being a patron。 When I was almost done with the book, I was triggered。 I have never been triggered before and I have read quite a lot of dark books。 The story line of this book is good but not great, the character development was decent, the only thing that was hard for me as a reader was that the author did not describe the supporting characters, and as such it was hard to picture some parts of the story。 All in all, I don’t feel like thi Trigger Warning: AbortionI got to read this early due to being a patron。 When I was almost done with the book, I was triggered。 I have never been triggered before and I have read quite a lot of dark books。 The story line of this book is good but not great, the character development was decent, the only thing that was hard for me as a reader was that the author did not describe the supporting characters, and as such it was hard to picture some parts of the story。 All in all, I don’t feel like this book was worth the time it took me to read it。 。。。more

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first - overall a slower read and I wanted more from the characters。 Short and simple book (if you consider monster romance simple but def basic for the genre and compared to Katee's others)。 I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first - overall a slower read and I wanted more from the characters。 Short and simple book (if you consider monster romance simple but def basic for the genre and compared to Katee's others)。 。。。more

Okay, this was not what I was expecting! Monster romance, tentacles, you know… and while there is some of that, the actual story itself is precious。 Two people very in need of love forced together, making mistakes, fixing them, dealing with very real situations, and falling in love。 Overall, this romance made me “awww” a lot! I did not think I would finish this book and say “how cute is that!?”, but that is exactly how I’m feeling right now。 I loved the way Thane could see past the words Catalin Okay, this was not what I was expecting! 4⭐️ - Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I loved Catalina and tolerated Thane 😆I clearly didn’t understand the tags because I absolutely didn’t expect to deal with my own mommy issues while reading this! I definitely related to Linas loneliness and lack of trust in others。 Being alone with only your thoughts to keep you company would’ve driving me up the walls too。 Thane was a bit of a dummy when it came to existing with her。 He was right when he mentioned he overthinks everything。 It’s got 4⭐️ - Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Why not pass down the leadership to his brother so he can deal with the contract? Regardless, I love who he became in the end! As with the Dragon’s Bride, I wish this was a little longer and fleshed out。 If I understand it right, the point of these is that they are supposed to be short? I just think Katee has too many great ideas and it’s impossible to fit them into such a small book! Or maybe she didn’t anticipate the interest we’d have。 What’s their water world like? How does their society function? What’s their currency? Average household size? Do they dive deep in the winter to avoid the cold? That being said, if she made them longer, we may not be getting them as fast as we are。 😂 maybe I’m just a little too curious Overall, if you’re not a fan of a slightly rushed plot, this may not be for you。 With these, you just have to enjoy the ride! 。。。more

4。5 ✨new favorite monster romance。 aside from some very minor pacing things。 I ate this one up。 As in I read the last 85% this morning and desperately want more of Thane and Lina。 Katee’s absolutely to weave heartfelt and incredibly sexy stories with the perfect amount of sarcasm and sass? Second to none。

I couldn’t wait too read this book and of course I wasn’t disappointed at all。 I absolutely love Thane & Catalina。 Both have been through so much and there communication is shit。 They both needed each more than they realized。 Another amazing read by Katee that I didn’t want too put down。 I received this Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。

Katee Robert does it again! I never thought I would find the idea of tentacles getting me off possible。 🥵 Yet, here we are!! I loved the Dragon’s Bride so much that I couldn’t wait for this book。 It was 100% better than I imagined!! Now, I’m anticipating the next installment of the series!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I have to say, I love Katee Robert, but this book was just okay and left a lot to be desired。 I wished we spent more time with Thane and Cat together at the beginning。 I feel like we lost a lot of bonding time between them, so when we got to the “I love you”s it didn’t feel as genuine as it could have been。 I get that Thane was still grieving and overcoming things (not to disregard Cat’s trauma as well), but even so, it would have been nice to see them become tentative friends instead of him jus I have to say, I love Katee Robert, but this book was just okay and left a lot to be desired。 I wished we spent more time with Thane and Cat together at the beginning。 I feel like we lost a lot of bonding time between them, so when we got to the “I love you”s it didn’t feel as genuine as it could have been。 I get that Thane was still grieving and overcoming things (not to disregard Cat’s trauma as well), but even so, it would have been nice to see them become tentative friends instead of him just f*cking her and then ignoring her for 47% of the book。 By the time they said “I love you”, I didn’t really feel that。 I felt that they cared for one another, but love? Nah。 And that’s a d*mn shame, especially since I absolutely loved Briar and Sol together。 。。。more

I subscribe to Katee Robert's Patreon because I love her but also because early copies of books。 I loved The Dragon's Bride so I was ready to be back with all the lovable demons and monsters to see what they were up to next。I think this story takes place at the same time as The Dragon's Bride because it does have the same auction where Sol meets Briar。 You do not need to read the first one to read this one but I highly recommend you do。Catalina is one of the most relatable heroines I've read in I subscribe to Katee Robert's Patreon because I love her but also because early copies of books。 I loved The Dragon's Bride so I was ready to be back with all the lovable demons and monsters to see what they were up to next。I think this story takes place at the same time as The Dragon's Bride because it does have the same auction where Sol meets Briar。 You do not need to read the first one to read this one but I highly recommend you do。Catalina is one of the most relatable heroines I've read in a while。 I loved everything about her and I enjoyed watching her get Thane to soften up。 He is the grumpiest of grumps。 But he has reasons。 And tentacles。 So many creative uses for tentacles。 There are lots of content warnings on Katee's website and also in the front of the book。 I think there is a scene in here that was handled beautifully and I am glad to see it happening more on page。 Yes I'm being vague because it's a spoiler。Catalina and Thane are a great pair and I just love this series so much。 Can't wait for the next one。 。。。more

Idk, it seems too convenient to the plot that Ramanu, Thane, and Catalina would all fail to bring this up or think about it。 Especially since the contract literally mentions what will happen if any children are made during the seven years。 Overall not my favorite, but it was still a fun read and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series! 。。。more

Classic Katee Robert。 I think I liked this one more than The Dragons Bride! There is a detailed page of tropes, tags and content warnings at the beginning of the book。 I really appreciated the inclusion of one of the plot points。 The story was good and the spice was also great。
